JR. REPORTER

Students in grades 7-12 are invited to take on the role of the investigative reporter as they consult with agriculture experts to gather information and craft a compelling story about agriculture in the 21st century.

Students will follow the inquiry process to explore a variety of current agriculture topics and develop an essential question to be addressed in their report.

They will research, contact, and consult with local area experts to gather reliable, first-hand information and connect with the agriculture community.

Ag for Life is available to assist pilot classes in liaising students with area experts, and will provide student support materials consisting of interview tips, research guidelines and writing criteria.

Teachers will select stories they wish to be considered for publication and submit to the Ag for Life team for review. Outstanding student entries will be showcased through select media outlets and Ag for Life events.
