Keeping Rural Families
Healthy & Safe
At Ag for Life, we believe anyone who gets to work, grow up on, or visit a farm, ranch or rural community is blessed. However every year there are preventable injuries and fatalities that occur due to many associated hazards.
While some injury risks for youth exist in both urban and rural environments, there are major injury risks that are unique to rural settings such as rural machinery, rural animals, open bodies of water, rural roads and suffocation hazards. Children should only participate in activities when they are physically and developmentally ready, regardless of whether they were raised on the farm or not.
The goal of Ag for Life is to greatly reduce the number of rural and farm injury and fatalities by providing educational safety awareness programming to rural youth and their families.
