Did you know that wheat is the most harvested crop in the world? Wheat is a member of the grass family which is widely cultivated for its seed, a cereal grain which is a worldwide staple food. All types of wheat can be divided in two major groups: spring and winter wheat. Spring wheat is planted in April and May and is harvested in the fall. Winter wheat is planted in August or September and survives the winter to be harvested the next summer.
