Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month (CALM) is celebrated every year in March and encourages children to learn Canada’s amazing agriculture and food story. CALM is meant to help build an awareness for students about their connection to local farmers and the agriculture and food sector.

CALM 2020

Ag for Life is celebrating #CALM2020 with several unique and exciting initiatives to promote Canada's Agricultural Sector to both students and Albertans in general.

Working in partnership with Nutrien we will be promoting the Farmers 2050 program. Farmers 2050 is a mobile game app that allows players to explore how farmers around the globe will feed the world's growing population.

For the month of March, Ag for Life will host an online event within the game for both students and the public at large. There will be prize draws for participating teams.

In addition to the online event Ag for Life there will be a CALM kick-off event at the Calgary Central Library on March. 2. We will have tablets running the game available for people to play as well as staff available to answer all your agriculture questions.

In addition to Farmers 2050, the ABCs of Ag are being highlighted through the month. Follow us on FacebookTwitter or Instagram to learn the ABCs of AG.
