Bee-lieve It or Not! 10 Sweet Facts About Honey Bees.

Here are 10 fun and fascinating facts about honey bees—perfect for curious kids (and adults too!):

  1. 🐝 Bees have five eyes – Two big ones and three tiny ones on top of their head to help them see in all directions.

  2. 🍯 A single bee makes only 1/12th of a teaspoon of honey in its lifetime – It takes thousands of bees to fill a jar!

  3. 🕺 Bees do a “waggle dance” to share directions – They wiggle their bodies to tell other bees where to find flowers.

  4. 👑 Every hive has one queen bee – She lays all the eggs—up to 2,000 a day!

  5. 💪 Worker bees are all female – They do all the work: foraging, cleaning, guarding, and taking care of the queen and babies.

  6. 🚀 Bees can fly up to 24 km/h (15 mph) – Fast little flyers for such tiny wings!

  7. 🌸 Honey bees visit about 100 flowers per trip – That’s a lot of pollinating!

  8. 🔁 Bees use the sun as a compass – Even on cloudy days, they can find their way using polarized light.

  9. 🧠 Bees can recognize human faces – Studies show bees can remember and distinguish different faces, just like we can.

  10. 🌍 Honey bees are vital for food production – About one-third of the food we eat depends on pollination by bees.
