Nutrien’s Seed Survivor Mobile Classroom is now OPEN for Booking!

An interactive learning experience for grades 3–4 that encourages children to to master the elements that plants need to grow.

Program Overview:

Seed Survivor is a free, curriculum-based learning experience that encourages youth in grades 1 through 6 to master the elements that plants need to grow (ideal for grades 3–4). Students explore multi-media and virtual reality games, a sunflower seed planting station, talking walls and much more! Available to schools in Calgary and the surrounding area within a one-hour radius.
This truck and trailer arrives at pre-registered schools and children progress through interactive Seed Survivor stations. The 36-foot trailer is accessible for all, and includes an entry and exit door. Students spend half the presentation outside the trailer in a guided plant nutrient lesson and outdoor displays and half the presentation inside the trailer playing each station. They explore multi-media and virtual reality games, interactive activities, talking walls and much more.
After visiting Seed Survivor, students leave with an understanding that plants need water, light, healthy soil and nutrients to survive. They also learn about where their food comes from and the importance of agriculture to their daily lives. All participants get to plant a sunflower seed to take home and grow!
