Ag for Life has supported and grown agriculture education programs for elementary-aged students throughout Alberta. In recent years, we have noticed a gap in agricultural programming for junior high and high school students. At the same time, we also noted that there are strong curriculum links to information about agricultural careers.
Engaging junior high and high school students in agricultural experiences is increasingly important as industry demand grows for human resources and the population becomes further removed from the farm. In Alberta, the agriculture industry is constantly expanding, and there is no shortage of job postings for all kinds of careers.
ThinkAg Careers will provide an opportunity for students to learn about the agriculture industry, explore various agricultural careers through experiential activities and gain an understanding of the many education and employment opportunities available in the industry.
