Earth Day Seed Bombs

Celebrate Earth Day by making an earth-inspired seed bomb! These little balls of seeds make great gifts, are fun to make, and are even more fun to plant.

Materials:

  • Blue and green construction paper

  • Flower seeds

  • Water

  • 2 Bowls

  • Blender

Instructions:

  1. Tear the paper into small shreds. Keep the green and blue separate.

  2. Add the blue paper to a blender. Add twice as much water as paper.

  3. Blend the paper and water mixture to a pulp.

  4. Add the pulp to a bowl, and stir in seeds. Do not blend seeds.

  5. Repeat steps 2-4 with the green paper.

  6. Using some of each colour, use your hand to form balls of the paper pulp. Try to make it look like earth! Let the balls dry overnight.

  7. When you’re ready to plant your seed bombs, bury them in soil and water occasionally to keep them moist. Within a few days, your flowers should start growing!
