Golden fields of wheat is the first thought that comes to mind when most people think of Alberta agriculture, but there’s more to Alberta than just wheat and cattle. 


Alberta has one of the world's most productive agricultural economies and over 70 thousand farmers making it Canada's 2nd largest agricultural producer.  But have you ever thought, "what's in the field" as you drove through the province?


Agriculture is a staple industry in Alberta and although canola, wheat and barley are the primary crops grown, there are several other crops that could be growing in the field! Explore our guide to see what could be growing in the fields throughout Alberta.
